Richard Mazda is a writer, director actor and musician. Born in the UK and now resident in NYC, his career has seen considerable achievements in the fields of both theatre and music. Initially trained as an actor Mazda switched to music in his early twenties; a record deal with Virgin Records swiftly followed. Within a couple of years he was in demand as a producer and musician following a fateful meeting with The Police’s manager, Miles Copeland III, who proposed that he become in-house record producer for the nascent IRS record label. Mazda’s went on to work with many iconic acts both in the UK and the US including The Fall, Average White Band, Nick Cave, ATV, Wall of Voodoo, Yello, The JBs, Darryl Hall and many others.
